Employees at C.H. Guenther & Son (CHG) took the season of giving to heart again this year. Employees donated almost $658,000 to United Way<\/strong> as part of the annual campaign \u2013 a company record!<\/strong> That total was 25 percent more than the 2022 campaign\u2019s goal of $525,000.<\/p>\n

Almost every one of the company\u2019s 15 U.S. plants \u00a0increased their participation this year. Some made tremendous improvement:<\/p>\n

  • 99 percent of employees at Tribeca Oven in New Jersey participated, compared to just 3 percent last year.<\/li>\n
  • Pioneer Frozen Foods in Dallas saw 97 percent participation.<\/li>\n
  • Others saw significant participation growth:\n
      \n
    • Williams Foods in Lenexa, Kansas, by 33 percent;<\/li>\n
    • Mid South Baking in Pelahatchie, Mississippi, by 32 percent; and<\/li>\n
    • Pioneer Frozen Foods in Duncanville, Texas, by 31 percent.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      \u201cCHG employees have a long history of contributing and giving back to their communities,\u201d says Michael Saenz, CHG\u2019s 2022 United Way campaign chair. \u201cThe United Way campaign is a key mechanism for doing this.<\/p>\n

      \u201cThe participation at our plants was amazing. A lot of people across the plants and at corporate headquarters took a leadership position to encourage one another to participate.\u201d<\/p>\n

      This year, the campaign saw tremendous support through the generosity of Care Share contributors. As many as 688 employees elected to contribute at the Care Share level. Salaried employees donated 1 percent of their annual gross income, while hourly employees elected to contribute one hour of pay per month for 12 months.\u00a0The campaign also was supported by several corporate fundraising initiatives including a golf tournament, a silent auction, and a 5K run\/walk.<\/p>\n

      In addition to United Way, this year CHG employees across the U.S. also supported local food banks through annual food drives at corporate headquarters and at manufacturing plants. They also supported local law enforcement agencies, such as Blue Santa in San Antonio, through the donation of toys for the holidays.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
