CHG Welcomes New IT Leader

Brian Murphy has joined C.H. Guenther & Son as our new Vice President – Chief Information Officer (CIO). He will lead the company’s enterprise IT organization and be a critical member of the senior leadership team.  As CIO, Murphy will be responsible for defining and executing a technology strategy that aligns with the company’s goals.

Murphy replaces George Muller, who is retiring after almost 11 years at the company.

Murphy has more than 20 years of experience leading IT strategy as well as supply chain and operational support activities for various companies including Dean Foods, T-Mobile, Colgate Palmolive, and Whirlpool.  He also served as a consultant for SAP and has run his own consulting firm.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Building Services from Loughborough University of Technology in Loughborough, England.

Murphy is in the process of relocating to San Antonio from Dallas.  He has two grown sons, one living in Dallas and one in India.  Brian is originally from the UK, but has dual citizenship, having lived in the US since 2004.  As such, he loves soccer and enjoys travel, spicy foods and outdoor recreation.
