Steve Berger Joins CHG as Chief HR Officer
septembre 3, 2024Steve Berger has joined C.H. Guenther & Son as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Senior Vice President of Corporate Services.
Berger brings more than 35 years of executive leadership, human resources as well as merger and acquisitions (M&A) experience to CHG. Most recently, he served as a Senior Partner at Kearney in their HR/Leadership and M&A Transaction practices. Prior to that, he was the CHRO and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at Compass Minerals, Inc., a producer of essential minerals, and at Viterra, Inc., a Canadian grain-handling business. Earlier in his career, Berger consulted to manufacturing, logistics and agribusiness clients on HR, M&A, supply chain, procurement and other strategic, value creation.
Berger considers himself business-focused first and foremost, with a strong human capital affinity. He believes that by creating an environment where our team members can thrive, we will achieve long term success, both as individuals and as CHG. His pragmatic, “get stuff done,” approach aligns with CHG’s People First-High Performance culture. Berger says he expects a lot, will ask tough questions, will help the team find answers, and “then get out of the way.”
Berger also is proud to serve on the board of directors of Children International, a humanitarian organization focused on ending poverty by working with children and youth to build the healthy environments that they need to thrive and create lasting change in their own lives and communities.
He earned an MBA from George Mason University and an undergraduate degree in computer science from Penn State University.
