Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

January 18, 2021

Today we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, honoring American clergyman, activist, and Civil Rights Movement leader. For me, this year, more than any recent year, I think it incredibly important that we reflect on the importance of not only the advances made in racial equality over the past 50 years, but more importantly, the significant gaps and opportunities that we have around the U.S. and the rest of the world.

This past year has been an incredibly emotional one for all of us–Covid, political conflict, and racial iniquities and brutality were and still are the key headlines that we are all dealing with. While there is progress being made on Covid with vaccines in the pipeline and political unrest is clearly here for a while, all this will hopefully find peaceful paths as the government transitions and as the economy improves.

In regard to accelerating our improvement in reducing and eliminating racial inequality in our countries, it will take all of us–citizens and companies alike–to align and commit to long-lasting cultural changes and behaviors. I am proud of the work we are doing under our I&D journey and commitment under the leadership of Gregory Stinyard.

Please have a safe and reflective day.

Best,
