Newsweek Recognizes C.H. Guenther & Son As a Great Workplace for Veterans

November 7, 2024

C.H. Guenther & Son (CHG), a global food manufacturer based in San Antonio, Texas, has been recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Veterans.

The company demonstrates a commitment to hiring and serving veterans. It recently commenced a sponsorship program that pairs new veterans with workplace veterans to mentor and help them transition to CHG. The company also has a veterans’ employee resource group, celebrates veterans at its plants across the US as well as Poppy (Remembrance) Day in Canada, participates annually in Wounded Warrior 5K and other events, and gives unique coins and mementos to employee veterans in appreciation of their service.

More than 100 veterans currently work for CHG.

“This recognition reflects the hard work for our corporate hiring effort, partnerships with organizations such as Heroes MAKE America, the activities of our Veterans Employee Resource Group and our continued focus on diversity, equity and inclusion,” says Rod Hepponstall, CEO. “Our organization has shown a commitment to creating an inclusive environment where veterans can succeed and share their unique skills and talents.”

Last year, CHG also was recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity and Greatest Workplaces for Women. The weekly news magazine selects companies using surveys, professional interviews, and employee comments from websites such as GlassDoor and LinkedIn to make their determinations.
